Was going to ask in the AMA section but it says it’s closed to new questions…

Can the bolt for the shift star be checked for tightness while the clutch pack is still installed? I’m still having issues of shifting from 3rd to 4th sometimes. Ordered a new set of shift ratchet parts as this is the usual fix but in a recent post in the Vic owners FB group, a member said his star bolt wasn’t tight. Anyway, I’ll figure this out after I get it all apart but was curious if anyone knew. In all the pictures in the manual, when they show the removal procedure for the shift star the clutch is out so wasn’t sure about the bolt access.

In short I can’t say for sure. That said I can’t phantom that it would be under the clutch as I have never heard of anyone who changed it complain that they had to remove the clutch.

I looked it up in the Victory manual and it does not mention anything about removing the clutch in the disassembly of the shift mechanism including the star.

You can access the bolt with the clutch in place, yes.
