Has any body used the Dynojet auto tune setup with a power commander V? I have a 2016 XC with Lloyds timing gear and filter and recently added a Trask 2:1 pipe and Lloyds 505 cam. Currently I am having trouble finding someone to do a Dyno tune in the Atlanta area and was considering just going the auto tune route instead. Any help is appreciated.

Auto tune works as advertised. But it is in no way “automatic”. You have to do a bunch of work to get the tune right. You’ll be teaching yourself a new skill. It’ll take a decent level of hardware and software skills. The same skills you were looking for in a dyno tuner. A great way to learn a ton about your bike and fuel injection if you’re technically oriented. A nightmare if you’re not.

Thanks for the info. Would you have a tune that could get me started with the listed modifications or at least something close?

I’ve been working with a Maximus on my own for almost a year at this point but not during the winter.

It works but you can get the timing perfect unless you have a dyno. There is so much trial and error, learning how to perform smoothing, remove shift popping etc…. it is time consuming. If you love to tinker and you get the concept then by all means. I have watched hours of youtube videos on tuning…. its awesome. I’ve been lucky enough that someone shared their tune from a well know tuner which has helped me see things, trends etc when comparing my tune.

Another option for you is Those Dyno Guys just outside of Tampa. it not too far from you and he is well regarded in tuning including Victory’s.

I own a CCT with a PC5 that was done at your shop. I also own a second one with only a Lloyds timing wheel. I’m interested in getting the second one a fuel control system. I want the best system on this one and interested in knowing which system is best. I can ride the motorcycle to your location for the project to take place… the PC5 is on a 2012 and the one needing a system is a 2014.

Best is a matter of opinion, but if you were bringing me a 2009-2017 bike that didn’t already have a controller tied to it, I would use a Maximus.

What does it cost to have a Maximus installed and what is done to keep it updated?
