  • Lloydz Top Filter does it require a tuning after installing

I purchased a Lloydz top filter from Lloydz website and installed, I then started reading some Facebook forums that I belong to on Visions and Victory’s about adding that filter. I got mixed messages about if my bike 08 Vision, requires to be tuned now, I have a PowerShot (I think, may have to look again) tuner on it that was there when I bought the bike. When I replaced the top filter, it had the first gen Lloydz filter (one with two foam holes) on it and I just put the new version in its place. No other mods done by me, and I am not aware of any done previously, but I have only had the bike 5 years now, so can’t really say for sure. Lloydz website when I bought the filter did not say anything about having it tuned, it reads like you just replace the old filter with the new one.

Bike is running fine, but here in Iowa I have not had many rides yet this year.

So, question is should I get my bike tuned again due to adding the new filter which will add more airflow?

I don’t plan on doing any additional mods to it as I like it just as it is, I only upgraded air filter as I thought it would be better for the bike.

    Thanks for any advice.

    Short answer – yes.

Longer answer: You bought the filter because you love the bike, want to keep it for a long time, and therefore are looking to make it better by adding an aftermarket, performance air filter. The filter requires some sort of aftermarket device to ensure the bike runs properly afterward. That’s just the way it is. But this is no big deal because a quality aftermarket tuning device, set up properly, will also make the bike run even better than the filter alone could have done. You’ll increase power, you’ll increase efficiency, and with the increase efficiency will come longer engine life. All things that are important to you. So it’s a win-win teaming up the filter and an aftermarket tuning device.
