Ignition Key Won’t Turn
Posted by Enrique on June 25, 2023 at 2:19 pmWithout any symptom of trouble, my ignition key will not turn. Tried with my other key, same result. Tried jiggling and a lubricant and still will not turn to on position. Last rode the bike 3 days prior. Is there anything I may be missing in getting this resolved?

I would have thought that the lube would have fixed it. But if not, then the switch must have failed internally and needs replaced now.

Thanks Rylan. Yes, I would have thought so too. Victorymotorcycles.com is showing the switch is not currently available. Ebay is showing a used switch for $185, which I don’t feel very confortable with a switch that old. There is a universal switch for $30 where they specifically say it is compatible with a 2004 victory kingpin. Anything I should look out for in going this route?

You are going to want to get the kit with ignition switch and fuel cap.
Still available for $269 https://www.victorymotorcycles.com/en-us/shop-parts/4012/4012376-266/
I would never rig my bike up with a cheap universal fit ignition switch. That would invite more problems than it would fix.

Thanks Rylan. The link you provided specifically says “This item will not fit you motorcycle.” I have a 2004 Victory Kingpin. I directs me to the correct part 5
Item # 4011023 (Vented, 49 St/Can) NOTE: Fuel Cap also shown on Fuel System Pg. A11, Ref. 29]
Not Currently Available
However, I found this on e-Bay that says it’s new for $125. Does this look right to you?
Thanks so much for your guidance.

The ignition switch was the same from 1999-2017 every model except Vision.
