04 KP w/100ci 5sp. Sloppy shifter
Have a 04 KP 100 ci w/ 5sp. Been dealing with a sloppy shifter for ages. Would love to find a fix for this. Neutral can be a bear to find if I’m not delicate. Any ideas?

There needs to be a certain amount of slop in the shifter. This is to protect the transmission from your foot inadvertently resting on the shifter and burning up a gear. So if your bike has maybe less than 50k on the clock, then it’s probably the normal slop. Sometimes on high mileage bikes the shifter and bushing do wear out and they need replaced.
