Just to follow up in case someone does some searches, I was able to locate a used coil. after replacement of the coil along with changing the sparkplugs has solved my problems. on longer rides, I’m not having any problem with idle or stalling.
I will say, these coils are in very short supply these days as they are no longer produced. It’s quite possible that a new solution needs to be found where maybe a newer model coil could be retrofitted. I think this is unique to the 02-07 models.
