If another person has already tried all the obvious stuff, then I won’t have any ideas sorry.
Well, I have ideas, but they are guaranteed to lead you on a wild goose chase. Weird, one-off issues like this that are not common or known won’t be easily solved by the internet guessing game. For example: I would have suggested a speed sensor first – but someone’s already tried that. If you demand I guess again, then I’ll blurt out “new speedometer” just to have something to offer.
My next guess would be my fallback guess: Someone has messed the bike up with poor quality aftermarket parts and shoddy workmanship. For example: some cheesy aftermarket chrome cover has rubbed a partial hole in the wire harness and it now shorting out your speed circuit. Because this isn’t an inherent, known issue with this bike, it gets left out of my idea list, but is easily discovered when you get down and take a close look.
