The Victory Accessory Drivers Backrest can drop low enough to push out the under-frame mudflap and allow the flap to rub on the tire. That plastic mudflap holds the air line to the shock, and of course you don’t want ANYTHING hanging down and rubbing on the tire. But in the case of this bike that I saw on Facebook, *the suspension was lowered enough* that not only did it tear out the mudflap, but then the backrest dug into the tire and destroyed it! This of course is a life threating situation and the person riding the bike is lucky to walk away! To remedy this in the past I’ve either shortened the length of the backrest post, or opened up a small slit in the mudflap for the post to pass through. Now I think the better option would be to drill a hole through the upper part of the post and run a bolt through, to act as a stop and not allow the backrest to slip down to a dangerous level.
