I have a 2003 V92C that has sat for a few years before I got it. I cleaned out the gas tank, cleaned the throttle bodies, replaced the rubber throttle body boots, replaced the cracked front cylinder head, checked and retimed it according to the timing marks not with a scan tool or anything, changed the oil, tested fuel pressure, (50psi), compression tested it, (90psi on rear cyl. 65psi on the front), cleaned and gapped the spark plugs and reset the idle to 1000 rpm, and gave her a paint job, I know that’s unrelated to it’s running lol. Sadly the bike still feels and sounds like 1 cylinder is working harder or the timing is off ever so slightly. Plus when riding it’s a bit sluggish up to 3200 rpm but after that it doesn’t do to bad until I hit 5th gear. Then it’s all down hill. I have to downshift to maintain speed or accelerate, highway speeds are impossible if there’s a slight breeze and passing takes forever. I love the bike and I know it should be way faster and powerful but it’s just not there. It has 11,442 miles on it and I’m stuck, I can’t figure it out. I tried uploading a video of it running as I put my hand over the exhaust pipes the rear cylinder sounds fine but the pipe for the front cylinder feels like it wants to suck my hand in and it sounds like it’s farting on my hand? Weird. Any help is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks guys.

And to add, I just saw that I have oil coming out of my exhaust pipe for the front cylinder, that’s new and awesome!🤬😭 I’m hoping that it’s just from the leak around the cover on the side? I know it’s hard to see but there’s oil on the pipe below that cover and maybe it’s just blowing back there? Here’s hoping.

Sounds like something got messed up when you replaced the cylinder head.

Go back over the work. The oil leak is a good place to start. Cam timing is another.

It runs exactly like it did when I got it before I did the head, the head was cracked and I was hoping that replacing it would’ve made it run better but there was no change. I went back over my work and it’s all correct. I didn’t do anything with the rear cylinder but who knows if someone before me did so Ill check the timing on that too. I fixed the oil leak, just turned out to be a gasket and the oil from the exhaust was just being blown back. Unfortunately I’m thinking I’m going to need to do atleast a set of rings because of the compression test results however I have not yet done a leak down test but I will soon. Thank you for your time, I know you don’t have much of it.

Re-time the engine (both cylinders) per the instructions in the manual.
