Screwed up time-sert install on Victory Vision an wound up “losing” the time-sert inside the case. Time-Sert used is not magnetic. Other than splitting case, hoping for options. Rylan in quick message mentioned removing primary cover and trying fishing out, but I’m having trouble visualizing how Id’ access the inner case that way. My mechanical abilities are probably on an upper basic to lower intermediate level.

Will try filling with oil (plugging the drain opening) and apply positive pressure to fill tube in hopes of moving it back toward that drain.

Will also try to see it with boroscope and possibly try fish out with wire.

    Bummer.

Step one for me would be to use your bore snake in the dip stick hole to see if you can find it. With the bike being on the right side when it happened, the Time-Sert would also be on the right side.

Next for me would be to do exactly as Rylan suggested. It’s doubtful anyone has replaced more Victory drain plug threads with a Time-Sert than Rylan Vos.

Unless the hole is much larger than the Time-Sert, I don’t see it falling back out through the drain hole without a LOT of effort. Especially if the bike is on the right side.

Spent few hours with boroscope and welding wire trying to locate and fish it back toward drain. No luck there.

Maybe Ryan can give more details on retrieving from primary cover area. I’m having trouble visualizing the access though I haven’t removed the primary cover yet.
