Recently traded a crappy harley for a 2008 vision…. And now there are four Vics in my stable. it says 35000 miles, but looks like 135000 miles, sun beat to hell. everything does work though. first two issues, smell gas during/after hard acceleration, and installed a bluetooth adapter on the aux cable, getting quite a buzz that is rpm related.

any advice on this would be appreciated

The fuel smell is probably something to do with the fuel cap. The aluminum tank and fill area can distort by hanging the fuel nozzle off of it, and then fuel can escape past the cap seal.

I don’t know why you rare getting radio interference with the Ipod cord. I’ve seen radio interference from aftermarket spark plug wires, aftermarket headlights, aftermarket turn signal and brake light mods, but never before with a good quality OEM Ipod cord into a perfectly stock and great condition bike. I could certainly have something to do with the way the bike was cared for in the past, such as sitting out in the rain and the wire harness deteriorating.

Thanks, I’ll examine the fuel cap area. I’m using the aux cord in the glove box….. I don’t know it it has an iPod connector like my twelve CCT, I’ll look into it
