Happy To Be Here
I recently bought a 1999 V92C. After having never been without a bike for decades, I took a 20+ year break from motorcycle ownership when I sold my last bike in 1999. (Some detail on that saga here.) I find some appropriate symetry in this, my first bike since 1999, being a 1999 model.
The V92C had been sittting unridden for a couple of years but only needed some minor repairs and maintenance to get it road-worthy. The biggest repair was replacing the oil cooler (my wife did this for me as she has owned worked on 49 vehicles and has more skill and patience than me). The original oil cooler had broken free of its brackets and was only held in place by its hoses and a very long zip-tie.
The seriously blued OEM pipes have been replaced by shiny Victory originals. The original Victory saddlebags are remounted after being cleaned and re-dyed.
The only nod to 2022 has been the addtion of an iPhone mount and a USB port.
I’m only a couple of hundred miles in, but I’m loving the V92C.
