  Drain Plug Repair. Helicoil vs TimeSert. Here we see a rare glimpse inside the block of a Victory. On the left is where someone has tried to repair the stripped drain plug with a Helicoil. Not only is it less strong than it’s competitor, but the wrong size is installed here. This one is sticking up into the crankcase and restricting oil drainage out of the drain hole. So we pulled it out and replaced with a TimeSert (right hand picture). A much stronger insert, and I always install the correct depth insert so oil drains properly!
