  • Cross Country Fuel gauge never goes beyond half a tank

I mean, we all know how horribly inaccurate the Cross Country’s fuel gauge is. But this is a problem where the gauge just won’t go over half a tank, even when you’ve just filled up.

The fuel float is saturated and needs replaced. Note the difference in weight of a saturated float and a new float.

As I type this the fuel float assembly is still available separately from Victory. It’s a simple R&R.

Good to know. I thought I was getting horrible gas mileage until I started calculating it manually and making mental note of how much fuel I was adding at the gas stations.👍

I have the opposite issue, my fuel gauge won’t go under 1/2 tank. Just have to watch mileage, try not to go over 150. When I first got the bike and didn’t know the gauge was bad, ran out at exactly 200 miles.

Your float is saturated and needs replaced.
