I’m having a loud bearing noise that changes with speed. Not RPM or gear. If check front wheel bearings and changed the front tire. Bike has 40k on it. I’m thinking transmission output? No metal in the oil and no leaks.

    Any other ideas?

Unfortunately you’ll just have to keep checking things until you find it.

I’ve never seen a front wheel bearing go bad. I’ve seen dozens of rear wheel bearings go bad over my carrer. And certainly other things too.

    Keep digging!

How one can check for bearing issues?

If yo are referring to wheel bearings get the wheels off the ground and spin them. they should be perfectly quiet. Grab the tire top and bottom pull with one hand while pushing with the other checking for any play. The smallest amount if any and the bearing is no good. The rear wheel you should remove the belt to spin the wheel. A little more involved.
