Re: Stage 1 at Dealership (K&N Filter, Swept Pipes & ECM Tune) 106 Freedom Motor

Is this bike really 97 HP and 113 torque? My gas mileage is 30 MPG. My 2015 Harley FLHXS Stage 3 107ci gets 43 MPG. Why such poor gas mileage with the Victory?

Yes, that is the question. Why is your bike getting much lower MPG than typical.

Generally I don’t like to talk about fuel mileage because of all the myriad of variables at play that affect mileage. Some of my personal vehicles can sway 10-15 mpg depending on the variables, and my bike is no different,

But since you asked I’d start with the tune. You said ECM tune. Does that mean the flash card that Victory included with the exhaust that the local dealer used their Victory software to program? Or do you mean an aftermarket devices that re-programs the ECM?

      Rylan,

I purchased the bike off of the original owner. I assume it was the card at the dealership.

      Thanks,

      Pat

How long have you owned the bike and are you willing to invest significant amounts of time and money into bringing up the fuel mileage?

If you said “only a few weeks, and no” then you’re good. I imagine that the fuel economy will improve after you and the bike get used to each other, you’ve had time to complete all the maintenance, and the environmental conditions change.

Otherwise, if you consider this to be a major problem, and you’re willing to invest some time and money into fixing it, then reply as such and I’ll steer you to the next steps. The next steps are some maintenance and then a swap to a far more sophisticated engine tune rather than the one-size-fits-most tune the bike likely has now. But there will be significant time and money invested.

Thanks Ryland! I do not think it is worth sinking any additional money into it since Victory is no longer in business.
