Hi Rylan, I’m trying to revive a 99. Two questions for you. First the clutch that’s in it isn’t the greatest so I plan on doing 1 of two things, I got a loaded clutch basket from a 99 SC that I want to put in. The previous owner said the clutch was good. Will it work? If not, I read on here that clutch plates aren’t made anymore. If I do a clutch, do I need to replace them, or just the friction plates?

Second question. I plan on putting stage 1 victory performance mufflers on. I did it on my 01 and know I have to upgrade the air filter, but my question is can I chip the ecm on the 99 or do I have to get a new ecm? Thanks for your time. I know you’re a busy man and appreciate any help here.

The clutches are the same in 1999-2000. They are interchangeable of course.

I recommend a better chip for any combination of intake and exhaust. There are no requirements for getting a better chip.
